NMS Security Policies & Procedures

Every NMS employee signs a Privacy Policy agreement that binds them to the terms of our data confidentiality policies. This policy can be reviewed at nmshealth.com/privacy. Access rights are based on employee’s job function and role. Information sharing does not go beyond the scope of services that we have been authorized to perform by our clients.

Information security

NMS works hard to protect users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. Sensitive data is encrypted with SSL and TLS certificates to ensure your information is encrypted during transmission.

NMS regularly reviews information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems. NMS's office is secured with keycard access. Visitors are logged by reception.

We restrict access to personal information to NMS employees, contractors and agents who need to know said information in order to process for the required employment screenings. Our employees and contractors are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

NMS diligently applies updates to employee computers and monitors employee workstations for malware. NMS has the ability to apply patches and restrict employee access to our network. All NMS employees have the latest virus scan software and definitions installed on their machines.

Because of the nature of our business, NMS handles protected health information (PHI). Information that is deemed as PHI is stored and transmitted using methods that are HIPAA and HITECH compliant. NMS has signed a business associates agreement (BAA) with third parties that transmit and store PHI.
